I have a Tesco 8-t complete! medal Tesco Del Rey medallion and whammy bar, plays great! Have yet to see one that compares. 763542 perfect cond all factory would like to know its vaat 10:18 PM

I just bought a mint condition EP-8T in the original cardboard box with paperwork for $210.00 on e-bay! I feel as though I stole this beautiful guitar at that price. Hello, I also have one however, it has been thru much in its life I need parts does anyone know where to get any? If not the originals at lest something to play in my ska band? I would like to sell it, but I don't know what the thing is worth. I rarely play it cause the pick-ups (by design) are somewhat microphonic. It has a fairly intact finish, though one of my sons played with it, and it has some belt buckle scratches on the back. I took the original tuning machines off cause they suck, and wont stay in tune. I have the trem bar and spring installed. Mine has a white pickguard, and the backing plate for the controls is white, instead of black. I want to restore it, but the project might be far above my price range. The paint and possibly body itself might be a little cracked. The levers and knobs are there, but the plastic face is busted. Only has one string, electronics seem to be in place, might need dusting. How much would these two sell for? I may be willing to sell. Hey, I have an EP-8T hollow-body, near perfect condition with a Checkmate 12 amp, also in near perfect condition. I would like to know how I go about finding what the approximate date of manufacture of this guitar is and how I would go about finding its present worth.

#TEISCO DEL REY SPECTRUM 5 GUITAR UPDATE#
Keep checking back and I'll have an update on each guitar. One of the purposes of this blog is to document the stree value of these guitars. Good luck with your project, it sounds like it's going to look beautiful once you get it painted. Is there any place that i could find the street value of these guitars? i am looking at one used, but i dont know what to offer. It will get all new electroncs and machine heads as well as a new roller tune-o-matic. The control plate is missing as well as the pick guard so I will make new ones from pearloid stock, possibly in yellow. Planning on repainting it as bright red as I can find with bright yellow bindings and a big Scuderia Ferrari badge on the lower body. It is currently completely disassembled and being sanded to be repainted and refinished. Missing some parts and the finish is trashed. Thanks for the picture from Portugal, I like the color of your model better and it is in better condition. No craks, I still have the original knobs (but i've change to keep in tune). The pickups are rewinded, they sound loud as a Gibson Les Paul, but with the sound of a Teisco. Check my about me page for the ebay listing. While guitars manufactured by Teisco were ubiquitous in their day, they are now very collectable. under several brand names including Silvertone, Jedson, Kent, Kingston, Kimberly, Tulio, Heit Deluxe and World Teisco. Teisco guitars were also imported in the U.S. Teisco guitars sold in the United States were badged "Teisco Del Rey" beginning in 1964. Teisco was founded in 1946 by renowned Hawaiian and Spanish guitarist Atswo Kaneko, and electrical engineer Doryu Matsuda. The Teisco brand name stands for 'Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company'. It has the usual fussy switches and pots that you'll find on a 40 year old guitar that hasn't been restored. With the hole in the trussrod pocket it seems this guitar has spent part of it's life as a wall hanger. The Tremolo bar is also missing and the spring itself is missing.

The guitar is in very good shape although it's missing the original nameplate and the bridge has been changed out for a modern style. The model number listed on the back nameplate is the EP-8T with the T in the model number for the tremolo. This is a late 1960's Teisco thinline Hollowbody guitar in the Gibson ES style.
